Western Queens is home to a diverse community of people including Black, Brown & immigrant neighbors, public housing residents, working artists and small business owners who are experiencing the rising cost of housing firsthand thanks to speculative investors buying up land and maximizing profits. WQCLT is fighting this trend by working with the Queens community to create permanently-affordable buildings for living and working in. But we need your help!

WQCLT works with tenants and community members to acquire buildings and homes and turn them into permanently affordable, community-owned spaces. We also advocate for better housing policy with city agencies and elected officials, run workshops and public meetings, host events, and educate the public on how they can personally do something about our housing affordability crisis.
